FESTIVITIES MARK BAISAKHI CELEBRATIONS AT DPS KHANNA

The School Choir adding Music to the Baiaskhi Celebrations

The children danced to the beat of Dhol and joyful strains of music from the Land of Five Rivers. It was memorable morning as the students dressed in colourful, traditional Punjabi attire and displayed bhangra. The traditional Bihu dance from the North eastern state of Assam was also showcased. ‘Unity in Diversity’ is the unique feature of our nation and the onset of the harvesting season is celebrated in different ways throughout the country. A skit depicting a scene from the Jallianwala Massacre brought home the fact that we cherish our freedom. The children in the junior wing of the school enjoyed traditional desserts and took part in several colouring and fun activities woven around this festival.
