SUMMER CAMP WITH A DIFFERENCE

The annual summer camp at Delhi Public School, Khanna concluded on the morning of the 9th of June 2012. The camp ran for two weeks. The activities for the junior children were specially designed and developed keeping their developmental needs in mind.

Golf classes were held during the summer camp under the guidance of Mr.Manjit Kochar, certified golf teaching professional, Director Overseas, Junior Golf Development Program, ICGA, Canada. On the final day, a Golf Clinic was conducted by Mr.Harmeet Kahlon, Arjuna Awardee, Golf Pro and Director, Academy of Golf, Chandigarh Golf Club. Golf equipments were put on display for the parents and the students.

The Theatre Workshop concluded with a satire on leadership “Andher Nagri Chaupat Raja”, conducted under the guidance of Mr. Pratiush Toor, an eminent theatre personality. The children learnt sculpture and oil painting in the Art Workshop. The final day of the cricket camp saw the participants play a keenly contested T20 match. Table Tennis, horse riding and music classes were the other highlights of the camp. Specialized coaching was provided for swimming by qualified male and female swimming coaches from Chandigarh and the children participated in aquatic sport activities on the culmination day.
