Chairman’s Desk
The Delhi Public School Society was formed right after independence to create institutions of academic excellence. New India needed bright young minds fluent in the use of English language with well rounded personalities, committed to making a strong nation. With untiring efforts the society is now running 140 schools out of which 14 are overseas.
The earlier institutions have been set up in metropolitan cities and some have come up in public sector townships like Bhilai, Digboi, Bokaro and Dhanbad etc. For the first time a Delhi Public School is coming in a semi-urban city – Khanna - known as Asia's largest grain market. The DPS in Khanna will provide high quality secular education to people of both urban and rural Punjab.
Run by the non-profit Athena Education Society, I am confident the school will be a shining example of national integration and academic excellence.
Ashok Chandra,
Chairman, DPS Society.
From the Vice Chairperson's Desk
DPS is proud to have a program that strives to maximize every facet of a child's development – from the academic and the emotional to the psychological and physical.
Thus, from an early age, our faculty focuses on not just the students' academic progress but also that of their Emotional Quotient and social interactions. To make education a joyful experience for students, they are exposed to music, dance, sports, drama, debate and a host of other activities. This imbues them with enough knowledge and confidence to hold their own in any sphere of society, and equips them to make a name for themselves where ever they go, which is the essence of a DPS education.
Furthermore, we shall instill in them a love for their country and a desire to help people less fortunate than them, thus producing sensitive, intelligent, compassionate and cultured human beings who are an asset to the world.
Annu Bains,
Vice chairperson, D.P.S Khanna.
