School gardens teach students how to grow & harvest their own food along with enculeating values like empathy and team work.
In order to provide a hands on learning opportunity to our students, teachers of Grades II &III advocated as well as helped the students in designing their own school garden on Wednesday,11th April, 2018.

Visit to wheat field
Field trips increase the interest of students in learning and ignites the spark to learn. The Pre Primary wing of DPS Khanna arranged a field visit for their students to the wheat field on Monday 9th April, 2018. The idea of this field trip was to connect the students with Baisakhi- ‘The Harvesting Festival of Punjab.’ It was a living, thriving, green and enriching experience for our kids.

From the delectable cuisine of Punjab to its beautiful village artifacts and foot tapping music- the Baisakhi Mela at DPS Khanna threw open the multiple facets of Punjab for the people of Khanna today.
DPS Khanna celebrated Baisakhi Mela with zest for the mothers and kids of classes Pre- Nursery to III. Mothers came dressed in Punjabi traditional attire to join the festivity. The aim behind the celebrations was to appraise the students of their rich culture and heritage.
Various food stalls were displayed. The entire school reverberated with enthusiasm during the celebrations.
Different competitions were organized for the mothers and their wards and they regaled the audience with their performance. The school got an overwhelming response from the parents as it came out successful in showcasing different facets of Punjabi culture.
Mr.DS Bains, Chairperson DPS Khanna congratulated the staff and the parents mentioning that ,’Punjabi culture has a rich tradition and such festivities are the vehicles that give us an opportunity to present the beautiful form of Punjab.’

Inter House Cricket Competition
Delhi Public School Khanna organized an Inter House Cricket Competition in the premises of the school for classes VI-VIII. The matches were played between the four houses. The final match was played between the students of Falcons House and Panthers House.
Falcons House won the match by 18 runs. Nevan Jain of VI A was declared the ‘Man of the match.’


Red Colour Day
‘Red is the first colour of spring. It’s the real colour of rebirth, of a beginning’. Andie Condie
To introduce the students with the colour ‘Red’, teaching them about its symbolism & importance, the Pre-Primary Wing of DPS Khanna conducted ‘The Red Day Activity’ on 4th April, 2018. Our Pre-School students were asked to dress in red colour on that day. Our teachers also joined the celebration by wearing red coloured dress to school. The classrooms were decorated with red coloured pictures. The teachers sung songs & rhymes related to red colour. ’Learning becomes fun when imparted the right way’ was aptly proved by the success of Red Day.

Shape Dance Party at DPS Khanna
Delhi Public School Khanna organized a ‘Shape Recognition Activity’ for the tiny tots to strengthen their love for Mathematics. The students wore different cut-out shapes and danced on the shapes song. They had tons of fun while learning this concept. By the end of this activity a sense of achievement was visible of each charming face.

Fun Games at DPS Khanna
Fun and frolic makes one happy and joyous. Delhi Public School Khanna took the initiative to flow the students river of spark. The tiny tots of Pre-nursery enjoyed to burst the bubbles the blooming buds of nursery enthusiastically passed the ball to their classmates. Whereas the students of Prep enjoyed the game of musical chair these carefully crafted activities enhanced a sense of responsibility, co-operation and developed team spirit amongst the young learners.

Patriotic Fervour Commemorates the Martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh
The legendary and revolutionary icon of the Indian freedom struggle Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh was paid a glowing tribute by the students of DPS Khanna. A Special assembly was conducted on 23rd March, 2018 to mark this special day. The students showed their reverence to this braveheart by putting up a patriotic song, speeches and a skit based on the gallantry act during his lifetime. This special assembly helped to imbibe the patriotic feelings amongst the DIPsites.







Puppet Show at DPS Khanna
A Puppet Show was organised at DPS Khanna for the students of pre-primary section. The stories depicted by the puppeteers enthralled the young children. They were awe-struck by the vibrant activity, vivid colours and delightful music. The show was completely engaging and students learnt valuable lessons in life skills and moral values.

One Day Sensitization Workshop for the Transport Staff
The school arranged a workshop on Safety Measures for the transport staff to equip them with the traffic rules and safety measures to be taken while picking and dropping the students.
Inspector Jaspreet Singh and ASI Harjinder Singh from the ‘Saanjh Kendra, Khanna’ were the resource persons. They imparted the drivers and the conductors with essential information about certain rules to be followed on road such as speed limit, safe driving etc. They emphasized that the children must be handed over to their parents or guardians while back home or they should be brought back to school in case no escort is found to receive the child.
This workshop was quite instrumental in benefitting the staff as they learnt the ways and techniques of behavior on road.
