Exhibits of Ninth Senior Founders Day Celebrations


Delhi Public School Khanna celebrated its Ninth Founders Day on the 18th of  November, 2019 with verve and vigour. Major General Surat Sandhu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Miss Priya Shergill-Trustee DPS Khanna and  Mr. Kunal Shekhri, member of the Management Committee-DPS Khanna were the Guest of Honour.The event started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest followed by a melodious welcome song ‘Ho yahi gunjan sa.’ The Indo-Western orchestra showcased the talent of DIPSites. The western dance performed by the students of Grade IV & V left everyone mesmerized. Flash mob dance earned the appreciation of parents and guest alike.

Mr. S. Mukherjee, the Principal of the school read the annual school report. A well-synchronized Kathak dance added extra charm to the whole programme. The much awaited event of the day i.e. Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh-a theatre production saw a big round of applause. The grand finale- a bhangra performance enthralled the audience who enjoyed the show to the hilt.The Head Mistress Mrs. Neha Rattan was given the Teacher of the Year award for her excellent performance. Meritorious students were honoured with DPS Blazers and scholarships for outstanding performance in academics.The Chief Guest Major Gen. Sandhu in his speech encouraged the children to dream big, work hard and achieve it. He further added that there are no shortcuts to success. He also advocated the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji- Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Vand Chhako. He lauded the efforts of the teachers for shaping the young minds to become responsible citizens. The Pro Vice Chairperson Mrs. Annu Bains addressed the gathering and said that education teaches to be good and compassionate human beings. And DPS Khanna also imparts such education which is a blend of academic excellence with human values. The Chairperson Mr. D. S. Bains quoted John F. Kennedy’s words and said that children are the most valuable resources and its best hope for the future.The programme ended with the National Anthem.

Extravaganza of Nineth Junior Founders


Delhi Public School Khanna celebrated its Ninth Founders Day for Juniors on the 17th of November, 2019 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. Amar Singh, IAS (Retd.), the Member of Parliament, Fatehgarh Sahib was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Lakhvir Singh Lakha, Member of Legislative Assembly, Payal was the Guest of Honour. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
To seek the blessings of Almighty Lord, the DPS choir presented a hymn and created an aura of piousness around. Mrs. Neha Rattan, the Head Mistress read the school report and made the parents acquainted with achievements of the school in the academic year 2019-20. The tiny tots of Pre Primary wing rocked the stage with their marvellous show ‘One world One Dream.’ Sustainability: Honey Bees and Environment- a theatre production presented by the students of Grade II and III enthralled the audience giving a strong message to protect our environment to maintain ecological balance. The rising stars of Grade I spread the vibrant colours of Punjab on the stage with their stunning performance Bhangra.

Dr. Amar Singh, the Chief Guest said that education can change anybody’s life. He further added that both the teachers and parents should work together for the development of the child. Mr. D. S. Bains, the Chairman, DPS Khanna said that discipline is the key to success. He put forth that DPS Khanna works on the principle of love and trust and each and every child gets his/her due here. He highlighted that DPS Khanna equips every child with the skills needed for better future.

Scholar Badge Ceremony 2018-19


DPS Khanna observed its Scholar Badge Ceremony to felicitate the multitude of meritorious students of Grades IV- XII, who achieved excellence in academics in the session 2018-19.

The students for the 100% attendance were also awarded during the Ceremony.
This is certainly one of the most awaited ceremonies, when the gleaming enthusiasm and triumphant spirit of the young scholars can be seen and felt.

9th Annual Sports Meet


DPS Khanna organised its 9th Annual Sports Meet on 12th October, 2019 with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra was the chief guest on the occasion. The Chief guest, DIG Khatra and the Chairperson Mr. D.S. Bains took the salute of the well synchronised march past followed by the School Band. Students entered into the spirit of the occasion with the oath being administered by the Sports Captain, Prabhjot Kaur Randhawa. The Sports Day was inaugurated by releasing balloons and the placard bearing the School’s name by the Chief Guest.The school ground of DPS Khanna dazzled in the evening with the special performance by the students of Prep in the Sunflower Drill. The colourful ribbon drill presented by the students of Grade III stole the hearts of the audience.

The Yoga asanas performed by the stu9th Annual Sports Meetdents of grade V rejuvenated the spirits of the spectators. The Horse Riding Show was the star attraction of the day. The Dandiya Raas presented by the students of Grade IV cast a spell on the audience. Then the much awaited track and field events started, as the budding athletes of DPS Khanna ran for the finishing line. The School campus reverberated with enthusiastic cheers of the spectators. Harshvir Singh and Simar Kaur both from XI C were declared as the Best Athlete Boys and the Best Athlete Girls of the meet respectively. Tuskers House was declared the Best House of the year 2019. Medals and certificates were given to the winners for their glorious achievement. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration


Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on October 2 to commemorate the birthday of the Father of Nation -Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
To pay homage to Gandhiji, the students of DPS Khanna conducted a special assembly in the School Premises , reflecting on his Principles of truth,honesty and ahimsa.

Road Safety Should be Our Priority


Realising the vulnerability of the kids on roads not just as victims but at times as traffic offenders also , DPS Khanna conducted a ‘Road Safety Activity’ for the students of Pre Primary ,under the able patronage of the Hon’ble Pro Vice Chairperson Ms Annu Bains to make the students aware of the various hazards on the road and how to take defensive actions against them.

Students were taught about the various road safety rules, traffic rules, traffic and road signals in a fun and planned way . Human life is precious and we,at DPS Khanna want to imbibe this spirit in our kids right through the beginning ,hence this noble initiative by the School to educate our students .

Independence Day Celebrations


DPS Khanna celebrated 73rd Independence Day on the 15th August, 2019 with unprecedented patriotic fervour. The whole school wore a patriotic look. The Chairman Mr. D.S. Bains hoisted the Tricolour. The gamut of activities held on the campus consisted of special morning assembly. The group song ‘Ae mere watan ke logon’ filled every heart with patriotism. There was a play based on the drug addiction to spread awareness against this menace. The choreography ‘A Soldier’s Life’ was the highlight of the day.

The Chairman addressed the gathering with his enlightening words to bring forth the feeling of oneness among the students and pride for the nation whose diverse culture makes it a great country. He further motivated the students to have dignity and respect for the hard-earned freedom in their heart and soul always.

The programme concluded with the national song ‘Vande Matram’.

Inter House Role Play Competition on Idioms


An InterHouse Role Play  Competition on Idioms and Proverbial Gestures was conducted for Grades VI-VIII.The enthusiastic students, resplendent in their costumes and glowing in their finery ,emulated the concept of enacting on Idioms with confidence and passion so well that the judges – Headmistress Ms Neha Rattan and English Teacher Ms Vandana Sharma had a real tough time in selecting the best out of all the breathtaking  performances.A sneak peek into the performances of our talented students.


The whole enterprise of education is extricably linked with the development of values.Devoid of the potential to nurture values, education loses its heart and soul.

Responding to this urgent need of encouraging Pro- social behaviour in children and youth, Dps Khanna invited the students of Government Middle School, Ikolahi for spending a day with them and enjoying certain

Animal Kingdom Activity


Wildlife is a precious gift by God to Mankind.To educate the children about the importance of both domestic as well as wild animals in maintaining the ecological balance, ‘Animal Kingdom ‘ activity was organized for the students of Pre Primary .They also enacted an interesting and informative role play on poaching and hunting of animals, urging the audience to save the ‘fauna of life’.
