The students of Psychology participated in the 3rd International and 5th Indian Psychological Science Congress which was held at Post Graduate Government College, sector 46, Chandigarh from 28-30 September 2016 on “Psychological Well Being: Ignite to Cultivate Peace and Harmony”. The students were appreciated and encouraged for the hard work they have done for presenting the research paper and getting such exposure at the younger stage as a student.
There was a workshop on Anger Management by Dr Dean V. Leuvan, titled “The Role of Anger and its impact on life”.
There were about 5 students from Class XII who participated in the research papers and about 10 students from both 11th and 12th all actively participated in the workshop.
“Green is the prime colour of the world and that from which its loveliness rises.”
The students of the Kindergarten section celebrated the Green Colour Day with great zeal and zest on September 9, 2016. Dressed in different shades of green, children brought green vegetables and salad to mark the importance of the day. The main purpose of the celebration was to make the students realize the importance of greenery, eating green leafy vegetables because healthy mind lives in our healthy body. Amusement and fun were at their peak during the celebration of Yellow Day on August 30,2016 by the students of Pre-primary classes. Students and teachers clad in yellow attire looked as bright as a sunny morning.
A Singing Competition was conducted for the Pre-primary classes on August 22,23 & 24, 2016 respectively. The Students sang in a melodious voice and enthralled everyone.
An aptitude test was conducted for class X to help the students know their abilities and capacities. The test will also guide the students to choose their career options and stream particularly after X in a healthier way. The test is divided into two sections. The first session was done today i.e 27 August 2016 & the second session will be on 3 September 2016. Each session will be of approximately 2 hours.
Toddlers of the pre-primary section celebrated Janamashtami with great fervour. The kids were full of liveliness & zest at this auspicious day. They were dressed in traditional attire. Breaking ‘Makhan Handi’ was the star attraction of the day.
‘Sharing & Caring’ is the theme of the month of August. To nurture such a great value right from the childhood, the students of pre-primary wing were taken to the Old Age Home, Bullepur near Khanna. The tiny tots interacted with the old people there. The students narrated stories,recited rhymes and played with them. They distributed gifts among them as a token of love & respect..
Students of pre primary celebrated the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan with great excitement. A special event was organized to educate the students about the significance of this festival. Tiny-tots put their best efforts to prepare colourful rakhis.
The 70th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour. The function started with the hoisting of the National Flag. The school campus wore a festive look. There was an excitement in the air. Various events were organized to mark the occasion ranging from patriotic songs to group dances.
