The school fete is DPS Khanna is an annual affair which is enjoyed by students, teachers and parents alike. This year on the 29th October,2016 the DPS family organized and participated in the school fete with great enthusiasm. The fete was inaugurated by Mr. D.S. Bains.
The tasty food stalls and exciting rides drew huge crowds. The baby show and the fancy dress competition and the dance competition saw enthusiastic participation too. It was a fun day for everyone. The highlight of the evening was the raffle draw.
Diya Decoration Competition
Bringing out the creative skills of the students was the main purpose of Diya Decoration competition held for the students of grades I to V on October 22,2016. They executed their talent by beautifully decorating the diyas.
Story Telling Competition
A Story Telling Competition was held on 12,13,14 October, 2016 respectively for the students of pre-primary wing. The students were encouraged to narrate a story of their choice with appropriate actions & expressions. Participation in such competitions improves the oratory skills & public speaking skills of the students.
International Conference and Workshop in Chandigarh
The students of Psychology participated in the 3rd International and 5th Indian Psychological Science Congress which was held at Post Graduate Government College, sector 46, Chandigarh from 28-30 September 2016 on “Psychological Well Being: Ignite to Cultivate Peace and Harmony”. The students were appreciated and encouraged for the hard work they have done for presenting the research paper and getting such exposure at the younger stage as a student.
There was a workshop on Anger Management by Dr Dean V. Leuvan, titled “The Role of Anger and its impact on life”.
There were about 5 students from Class XII who participated in the research papers and about 10 students from both 11th and 12th all actively participated in the workshop.
Green Colour Day
“Green is the prime colour of the world and that from which its loveliness rises.”
The students of the Kindergarten section celebrated the Green Colour Day with great zeal and zest on September 9, 2016. Dressed in different shades of green, children brought green vegetables and salad to mark the importance of the day. The main purpose of the celebration was to make the students realize the importance of greenery, eating green leafy vegetables because healthy mind lives in our healthy body.
